The writer of the song, Claire Selby, is a British. After graduating from Oxford University with a Masters Degree in languages, Claire devotes herself to English education for children in different countries.
Claire and her husband launched their English-study campaign for Chinese children in 2004. She was told about the way China was growing, and wanted to link children all over the world to those in this mysterious Oriental nation. As she knew that Beijing is going to host the 2008 Summer Olympic Games, she was inspired by the news and wrote the song. To Claire, the Beijing Olympic Games is a wonderful opportunity for children around world to learn about China.
